Description for blind and low-vision visitors
A horizontal painting on a solid black ground. The main figure joins the head of a spotted cat to the body of a fish. The head, at the left, is orange covered in ringed rosettes, with tall striped ears, wide yellow eyes with black pupils, a golden speckled muzzle, a pink mouth and long violet whiskers. Behind it the body opens into overlapping fins: a pale blue panel marked with blue and pink teardrops, a crimson field of white dotting, a violet underside edged in a row of small beads, and a tall crest of magenta and orange stripes rising along the back. The tail sweeps up to the upper right in bands of orange, red and violet. A smaller fish swims at the lower left, blue-headed and striped, its fins fanning out in fine lines. Green fronds dotted with yellow and pink rise from the bottom edge and the right corner.
